I love Edmund too, but I have a real soft spot for Desmond.
My parents had an Irish friend named Desmond, Des for short. I grew up loving the name. The meaning is perfect for me, "from Munster / Southern Ireland." That's where my mother and paternal grandfather are from.
Desmond is my #2 all time favorite, Peter being my #1. Desmond Peter sounds heavenly to me. Desmond Piers too. Others:
