[Opinions] German Names, again
Replies
Jannis is becoming pretty popular in Germany, as well as Jannik and spelling variants of both names. Lucas is over the top popular, but is mostly Lukas. Wanja is pretty uncommon, I have never met anyone called Wanja. The same with Prisca which is not at all a common name in Germany. Fränk has to be some odd variant of German Frank, probably a nn or else a Bavarian/Austrian variant of the name. I have never in my life met anyone called Kiri here in Germany, it's very uncommon, although Kira is pretty well-known and I know two girls called Kira. Joschi can be a nn of many names, such as Joshua, Joseph... But I'm not too sure of this because the name is pretty uncommon in Germany, i.e. not popular. I only know one young actor called Joshi or Yoshi, but then again: Yoshi is also a Japanese name...
I hope Prisca was the girl. I like that name. Kiri is nice, too, but also for a girl.
I've only met a few Germans--two boys named Sebastian and Johannes, and two girl named Jana and Elisabeth "Elli".
Some of my favourite German names for girls are Gratia, Dagmar, Magdalene and Magdalena, and Korinna. For boys, I like Rupert, Florian, and Felix. I'm sure I like more, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

Adore Prisca. I know a German Lukas. Fränk looks a bit odd to me, together with Wanja written this way. I know a German Frank, though.
Joschi reminds me of someone, but who... I should know! Oh, anyway it is a pretty name, and I think it is a nickname for Joschua (correct me if I'm wrong! We had a Joschua at school, but he went always by Joschua).
Jannis looks very German.

Jannis looks very German.
I'm German so of course I'll comment on the names :-)
Lucas - very popular, I know about 6 guys with that name
Wanja - never heard it before and I doubt it's German; it looks more Russian
Joschi - again, I never heard someone actually being called that but maybe as a nn for Johannes
Jannis - not very common, but my brother has a class mate with that name
Kiri - is the name of a cheese brand here, so I'm sure it's not used very often
Fränk - never seen that, but Frank is quite popular
Prisca - a female name (as you guessed correctly); very old-fashioned and I've only seen it on a Catholic nun
