Possibly cute on a kid. Totally, completely, horribly ridiculous on an adult. I can't imagine having to introduce myself in professional situations as "Sailor."

I agree with this, except I don't even think it's cute for a child. I would die of embarassment if I had to tell anyone my name was "sailor."
There are some parents who I believe care more about using a name that makes THEM look hip/cool/interesting/up on trends at the expense of their children.
