I absolutely love Mara said MAH-rah. I really dislike MARE-ah, though.

I really like it...So much prettier than Tara or Sara etc. I would be happy to see it on a little girl.
I slightly prefer Maren, but both are nice.

It's my mom's name! Her name is Mara Kathleen. I like the name despite it having a strong -ar sound, mainly because it's not as boring as the similar Mary.

I love it. I don't care that it has a not so nice meaning, it's a lovely name.

I really, really like the name. More than Tara, Sara, Lara...

The meaning puts me off, unfortunately. Otherwise I would like it.

My Ex Brother In Law named my neice Margaret Jade.
My sisters calls her Mara, but my mother hate this nick name.

:)Yay! I always think of Mara Jade when I hear Mara. I'm such a Star Wars geek. That aside, I love Mara.

Ha! Geeks unite!Bwahaha! We shall take over the world! It is useless to resist! One day you will all be greeting each other with Vulcan salutes and saying, "May the Force be with you!", while wearing shiny polyester costumes and shooting phasers! *Maniacal laughter*

I have already started my mission to replace every 'ok' with 'shiny'! ;)

I really like it. I prefer Naomi, I think, right now, but despite it's rather "bitter" meaning, I think it's quite pretty.

Despite its' meaningAnd the fact that it's slightly trendy...I adore it. It just has a very classic, beautiful and simple beauty to it. Too bad that most people don't like it because of its' meaning and trendiness. :-D

I don't like it becauseit means bitter in Hebrew.I also love Moira, and would love to see it used as a fn. Unfortunately, I can't use it since our ln begins with M.

It's my fourteen-year-old niece's name. Her mother (my sister) agonized for months over what to name her baby, and Mara is what she finally settled on.I've always been pretty neutral about it. Don't love it, don't hate it.
