[Opinions] The meaning of Viking . . .

That's interesting about the meaning of 'viking' - the Online Etymology Dictionary confirms that it means something like "one who came from the fjords" (http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=Viking). Strangely, we were told in our Viking Archaeology course that 'viking' was a verb (like 'jumping' or 'kicking') that was to do with raiding or attacking.I guess even university lecturers get fooled! :-)
