I absolutely love the name, have done for years. The only thing that puts me off using it is the disputed meaning. I don't like the possible meanings "bitter", "sea of bitterness" & "rebelliousness". If it was definite that Mary meant either "wished for child", "beloved" or "love", then I think it's a pretty safe bet that I'd probably use it.

I think it's kind of boring. It's also over used. You know, Mary Ann, Mary Lou, Mary Ellen, Mary Jo, Mary Margaret, Mary Helen, Mary Jane and so much more. Do something unique, like, Mary Elena, Mary Josephine or something like that.

I like Mary a lot. It is a solid, classic name. You cannot go wrong with it. For middle names, I would not go with any more simple names like Anne, Jane, and Jo because it makes it seem like it is just one name so make sure of that. Mary Elizabeth, Mary Susanna, Mary Samantha, Mary Olivia, Mary Rebecca, Mary Isabelle/a, Mary Allison, Mary Victoria

I like it. I feel like it's a classic name that will never be out of place. It works on a young woman, a child, for any age, really.

It's boring. It's a classic but boring. I don't dislike it, it's just that it doesn't do anything for me. I consider it to be more of a mn than a fn though and I think it works well as a mn.
