Hi All,
I'd known that Sean in Irish translated to John in English (sorry, don't know how to add the fada), but Eoin being used for John is new to me. Anyone know how that came about? Maybe the two names were used historically in different regions of the country? Or maybe it's an error?
And Ian is used as John too? Mostly Ian is listed as Scottish Gaelic but there are other sites that list it as Irish Gaelic. It's Scottish then?
Curious, thanks,
