Lol as usual. I think ibn literally means "son of", so Abdullah Ibn Mohammed would be Abdullah the son of Mohammed. So Basil Ibn is Basil son of????
King John definitely has bad reputation, demonized for instance in the Robin Hood stories as the usurper of Richard I. If in their warped minds they thought naming a child after a king of England was very fancy-schmancy, they could have gone for King William, King Edward, King George and it would have been marginally less awful.
