[Opinions] Pronunciation of Ysabel?
I'm currently reading a book called Ysabel, by Guy Gavriel Kay. I would like to know how to correctly pron. the name, as it is a crutial part of the book.
My librarian says it's Yaz-a-bell but my friend thinks it's just pron. like Isobel. I've also heard Eees-a-bell?
Do you have any insight?
Thanks!

Ees-sah-belle
I'd say EE-sah-bel (just like how I'd say Isabel)
It's pronounced the same as Isabel.
I tend to say EES-ah-bel, but also sometimes EEZ-ah-bel. You definitely do not pronounce the Y as a consonant; it's nothing like the beginning of "you" or "yes," for example. It's not YEES-ah-bel, for sure.
I like it, it's on my PNL.

It's ee-sa-bel according to babynamesworld.com, which would have been my first guess.

I'm not sure what the correct pronunciation is but I pronounce it iz-ah-bell, the same way I pronounce Isabel/Isabelle.
I would pronounce it Yeez-abel
