[Opinions] Luke
Wdyt? I've been looking for a masculine L name that my boyfriend likes and so far I've only gotten him to agree to Luke and Liam. I don't really care for Liam since it will be so easy to date the child, not to mention that it's a bit too yuppie for me.

Luke is great, simple but strong.I've been liking a lot of Luc/Luk names lately, Luke, Luca, Lucan, Luken, Lucas, I also like the spelling Luc but it probably wouldn't go over very well here.

Luke is great. Always really liked it.:)

Liam and Luke are both popular right now, but Liam has a very trendy, soon-to-be-outdated feel while Luke is more classic and handsome to me. My only issue with Luke for you would be the last name starting with K. It would sound like his name was Lou K---- unless you always stressed the K sound at the end of Luke. :-/ Lou is kind of a cute nn for Luke anyway, though. :bETA: I personally love Luke, and it would probably be at the top of my list if it wasn't the name of my sister's 10-year-old cat. lol

I like Luke, don't mind Lucas either, but Lukas bugs me for some reason

Those are both good reasons to avoid Liam. Luke is a beautiful, strong, classic name. I prefer the look of Lucas, but I also find it a bit contrived, and Luke is definitely not contrived. Levi is probably my favorite boys L name, but I also love Lyndon / Linden, Lionel / Leonel, and Leon (prn lay-OWN).

LeviLevi is a great L name.
Its better than Luke or Liam IMHO.
I like some crazy L names though, Like Lysander, which is completely masculine to me.

Like Lysander, which is completely masculine to me.Have you come across a large body of people who feel differently? o.0Array

Well... They feel it is the name of a household cleaner more than a people name ("what, like LYSOL?!")

I love Luke. It's really grown on me recently. I prefer it on its own, not as a nn for anything. Lucas is alright, but a little bit whiny. Luke is so much better. :DI do like Liam, but I agree that it will be dated soon, and Luke is much better than Liam, anyway.

I love Luke. It's handsome and manly but reminds me of the sensitive, kind type as opposed to the brawny, arrogant type.

Used to like Luke, but now I'm really over it. In my opinion, Liam is better, but only if it's a nickname for William.

Are you calling Luke dated and yuppie? I could see that more for Liam, but Luke doesn't give me that impression at all. Its Biblical connections make it feel much more grounded to me. I actually like it a lot. I don't care for Lucas or its possible "full names" but I think it's really handsome on its own. It would be in my Top 10 except it sounds awful with the LN! :)

I meant Liam.I'm not sure how on earth I skipped the damn name.

O! I swoon for Luke. It won't be that dated. (Wait, are you talking about Luke or Liam? Check the charts...)I don't see it as yuppie at all. That may be because I only know one Luke. But oh, the phonetics of Luke! The perfect syllable. The soft, sleek L and the gentle stopping of the K. And the long U that I love so much. Luke reeks of the gospels to me.I support it much more than Liam and most L- names.

Octavia, once again you are spot onComplete with the swoon... *sighs and falls back across sofa in a dramatic, yet ladylike faint*

lololI really have to watch my typing. Yes, I really dig Luke, not Liam. By far.

I really like Luke [as well as Luc and Lucas / Lukas]. And I don't really think it'll date the child, it's always been in the top 600 at least. My combo for it is Luke Isidore.

and Liam...I like Liam, but only as a nickname for William, and since my combo for it bores me so much lately, I have very little to say about it.I do know a very nice guy named Liam though.
