It's also an Ender's Game.
Don't worry about not being able to get through the book. I've discovered that people either love the book or hate it...and that's fine. I'm one of those who adores it.
And Liora Temperance just looks very, very unbalanced...I completely get what you mean.

I like Perpetua, because, to me, it has that Roman Empire feel to it--aristocratic and mythological. However, Sabela has an Ingrid Bergman-like appeal--exotic enough to attract your attention, but commonplace enough to actually be used.
I'm excited to see Ivy Sabela make some lists. :)
