Help[Opinions] Kendall for a boy
WDYTO Kendall? It's really grown on me lately, which is strange because I usually don't like boys names that start with K (I think of it as a feminine letter). Do you find Kendall "trendy"? Also, do you think a Kendall might automatically be shortened to Ken? I dislike that nn. Thanks.

I don't think it's trendy at all- it's my grandfather's middle name and he's in his 70s :)

It strikes me as very trendy, unisex and surnamey. It's not bad but I generally find those type of names a bit impersonal if that makes any sense. I do like it much better on a boy than a girl though.

I really like Kendall for a boy.
As far as nns, I don't think anything has to be shortened to anything if the parents don't want it to. Now, when the kid grows up, he may prefer Ken himself and there's nothing you can do about that. However, in my experience, when a family calls someone by their full name, they don't care for the nns.

mind that he would possibly be called Ken Doll, I think you have to think about your son if you were to use it. Not saying I am against it, I do like the name. However, I always try to put the kids feelings into thought as well. (You'll just have to raise him to accept the teasing, in other words, try raising him right.)

I know he'd hate being called that but teasing could happen with a lot of different names... so I didn't want to let that put me off. And hopefully, if it happened, it's only when he's younger, and then it would be fine. I don't know, I'll put more consideration into this. Because I don't know how likely the "Ken Doll" thing is to occur, (I've only met two Kendalls and I don't know if it happened to them) but I guess there's a good chance someone would come up with that. But don't worry, because more than likely I'll never get to using it because it's not in my top 5. Maybe I'd be more apt to use it as a mn now that I think about it...

I like the name, but I think it would automatically be shortened to Ken by most people. As for trendiness, it does seem a little trendy, but not overly so. I've not heard it a lot, yet, and while it does seem to fit with Madisons and Aidens, I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.
