I don't really think it needs a nickname.

I want to like Allegra, but I haven't been able to so far. It reminds me of allergy medicine plus the "leg" part has always bothered me. I prefer Allegria (ALL-ay-gree-a).

How about Alle as a nn?

I really like Allegra its very feminine and soft sounding and not common at all which its a big plus for me anyway.

The sound of the name is pretty, but I would think immediately of the allergy medication called Allegra. I took it once and it gave me headaches, so I even more don't like it than I would normally for such a connotation.

I don't realy like it much I think because of the 'leg' bit... but now thats probably just personal taste because I don't like any 'eg' names so ignore that.

Nicknames... Ella? that is a bit of a stretch... Al? any better than Allie? Probably not. Depending on what her middle name was you could do something with the 'ra' sound at the end... ok even I don't know exactly what that could be. Do you have any mn ideas for it?

I think Allegra is pretty - it is on my name list but sometimes I get a little wishy-washy about it. Its a pretty name, its unique, it has a nice meaning. But I remember an old Nickolodean show with a puppet character named Allegra... and I didn't care much for her. LOL!

I think of Algeria. I know when this has been brought up in the past, a lot of people think Allegra.
