[Opinions] April
I was just wondering if you use this site b/c you are pregnant or just like names. I started looking on here when I got pregnant and now I just can't seem to get enough lol. I love names. My husband thinks I am crazy. lol. Why do yall like names so much?
Also I have just recently fell in love with the name April. Do you think this is too plain? It makes me think of a kind of hippy girl... very natural and anti-war, and save the animals... a lot like me. lol

April is nice.
cute, but I prefer Avril
I love this site because I am been obsessed with finding the perfect name for my children since I was about 12 or 13 (if not younger). I am 22 now, not married (engaged though), with no children (or any chance of being pregnant). I think part of my love stems from loving to write, and thinking of names for characters, falling in love with a name and wanting to use it for a child some day.
April is not my style. I really dislike word names (in this case, its a month and I really don't like that). I am also reminded of when I worked at a summer camp 3 years ago and had a girl in my cabin named April.

I love April as a first or mn!
First of all:
I think April is very cute. My brother's middle name is Avril which I also love.
Second of all:
I found BtN while on a search for the meaning of my name and I never left. I've been planning names for my future children since I was six or so. I like this board because you can talk about naming your future babys without sounding like a freak.

Just a life-long name lover, here. I'm sure the site will be helpful when I'm pregnant again, but that's not happening until Winter '08 at the earliest.
I have a different image of April. It feels really dated to me, because I was born in the 70s when there were Aprils everywhere. So I picture someone who's in their late 20s to late 30s, basically pleasant but a little ditzy. Looking back to high school, I picture Aprils as being athletic, perky, and maybe a little shallow.
I don't dislike April, though. For me personally, I would be happier with May, March, June, or August. They all sound fresher to my ear.

I just love names - I couldn't really say why. I've loved them ever since I was a kid. I used to love poring through my mom's name book when I was little, though I can't really remember why. Possibly to give my mom alternative options for my name (I've never liked it). I'm not pregnant, and won't be for at least another six or seven years. I just really like names. :)
I've always thought April was really pretty, and the nice thing (to me) is that it's declining in popularity, so a little April probably wouldn't have too many other Aprils in her classes. It doesn't really make me think of a hippie chick, but that's probably just because I've only ever met one April, and she's not really like that. Personal association can do that, lol.

I started posting on here after my daughter was born. I'd lurked a bit and looked at the popularity lists and the name lists, but basically I just love names. I don't know why, I guess it's not much different than people who love stamps or Beanie Babies or Elvis memorabilia.
I think April is very pretty, not overused and very easy to spell and pronounce. I don't agree with your perception of the name, most of the Aprils I've met have been slightly ditzy, shopaholic, types who tended to dress much too young for them. lol This hasn't affected my liking of the name, strangely.
