[Opinions] Amberly
I know someone who's friends with an Amberly. WDYT? I've never heard of this name before, it's sort of like Amber. At first I thought it was weird now it sounds kind of cool. Opinions on it?

This is too trendy IMO. I don't like it AT ALL. sorry
My best friend
Wants to name her future daughter Amberly Nicole. I don't really care for it... but it's not as horrible as say a McMaddyssinneleigh.

I know its a place in England, and although I hate Amber, I rather like Amberly. It's got a nice ring to it.
It's okay. I know a little girl (whose mom is Kimberly) named Emberleigh. I'm not a fan of any of them, but they're nice enough on other people's kids.
:-)

Amberley is a place in England
I've never heard it used as a first name, but I don't see why it shouldn't be but I would spell it Amberley. I know it from the name of a village in West Sussex, (southern England). I think it makes a nice alternative to Amber.

I prefer just Amber. It doesn't sound right to me when people just append -ly on the end of names...a friend has a little cousin named Briarly, and I can never quite get my head around that one either. I like Briar okay, and I like Leigh, but they just don't seem to work that well together to me. Maybe I'm just being a name snob...if it was Amber Leigh, or probably even Amber-Leigh, I wouldn't be complaining :-)
I feel its trendy. Its not as bad as say Amberlynn would be, but the -ly ending is trendy to me. Kind of reminds me of Kimberly as well. Do you know how she received her name (after a place, to add a zip on Amber, the sound?
Anyway, with all that said, I oddly enough kind of like it (but I haven't decided yet). My DH (to-be) likes Amber, but I feel it lacks something, or maybe its just because its a word name.

I've heard this as a name before. It's also a place somewhere in the middle of the North Island of New Zealand - very English would be my guess. Not sure I like it as the person who belonged to the name was quite daffy lol.
I prefer just Amber.
