[Opinions] Sahara?
I was reading up on the Saharan desert, and I wonder would the name Sahara be nice for a girl?
Do you think it would work, or is it just a little bit trashy and OTT?
What names would go with it do you think?
Thanks!

THis name has a lovely sound to it, but it makes me think of a harsh unforgiving beauty and I don't think that's a good thing.
I like it very much
Our last name is Sands. I have long told my husband that if we were ever blessed with G/B twins, they would be Sahara Socorro and Mohave Sirocco, nn Sara and Mo (or possibly Coco and Rocco, from their mn's). Sahara Socorro Sands! [Yes, I'm serious!]
I still remind my husband of this from time to time. I have the distinct impression that he is very, very glad we're past our babymaking days without ever having had a little Sahara. :p

It sounds like it could be a name. It does sound borderline trashy, like you said. Plus if you say it fast it sounds like Sarah, so I think someone with that name would constantly be telling people it's Sahara, not Sarah, which could get obnoxious. Also, I don't typically like place names, especially places I wouldn't like, such as giant deserts.

Sahara is a guilty pleasure of mine :-) I usually dislike place names, but I really like Sahara because I'm in love with all thingsrelated to Sahara the desert.
