Astrid is gorgeous. It's great to see it on a real child. I pronounce it, "ASS-trid." I'm American and I have no idea if Scandinavians would pronounce it differently. No doubt the "ass" sound will drive off some people. But if you can survive that, it's a great name.I've always thought that Astrid Linnea or Astrid Sofie would make nice combinations.

It's not really said like ASS-trid but it's very close. Someone mentioned that they said the A like the A in apple. I think that's closer to the Scandinavian (or at least the Swedish) pronunciation.

Oooo, Astrid Sofie is superb! I was always partial to Astrid Solveig or Astrid Sunniva.
