I'm starting to like the name Juliana, but I'm wondering if its too over the top. WDYT?

Also, do you predict the name Cecilia will become popular again now the film Atonement has been released? I haven't actually seen it, but since it stars Keira Knightley I reckon it will be popular amongst the younger generations. I really don't want Cecilia to become the next Ava! :(

Juliana is just a bit too frilly for me, though I adore Julia (and Julian for a boy). I really love Cecilia, and it seems like an underused classic to me. I haven't heard about "Atonement" so I can't speculate on whether or not it might become popular.

I really like Juliana. It's not over the top, imo. Re: Cecilia, it's really growing on me. I watched "Beaches" today and was reminded of what a nice name this is -- especially with the nn Ceci (or however it is spelled).

Juliana is pretty but nms, and I agree with Tuesday I usually don't like -ana endings such as Liliana, Viviana, etc. I like it simpler. I mean, I like Juliana better than those, but it's still nms. I think I'd prefer it spelled Julianna if I had too. But Juliette, Julie, would be much nicer imo.

I don't know, I haven't even heard of this film! I love Cecilia; I hope it doesn't get popular! I think maybe it would rise in popularity a little but won't get too common.

I don't care much for Juliana, being the Julia freak I am. =P I find the -ana unnecessary, much like Liliana, Adriana, Emiliana, etc. I met a Lydiana once, actually. It's quite a trend, and I think Juliana falls into that category. I don't think it's over the top, but a little pretentious, and perhaps a little predictable.

I don't think Cecilia would become too popular. I'm not a Cecilia fan anyway, but I wouldn't worry about it becoming another Ava.

Yeah, I do not what you mean. I really want to honour someone with the name Ana, which is pronounced like Anna. Which is real bothersome, because it should be said "AH-na" but she doesn't. The only exception I can find to the rule is Diana. Do you have any ideas? I guess I could just have Anna and just have done with it, but I'm much more an Anne person. Grr. Why did I have to be a name nerd?

Hm, I see your dilemma. Diana's lovely - I'd give a thumbs up to that. :D Indiana comes to mind too, but I don't know if you're into that, lol. I also recently heard of Zuzana, which I think is really cool, though I don't know the correct pronunciation. How about Jordana? Susana? Rosana? Roxana? Johana might even work, but that'd probably be incorrect, if I had to guess. =/

I love Juliana. It's not at all over the top, IMO.

I've never really understood the appeal of Cecilia. If it were down to it, I'd say that would be more OTT than Juliana. Not my style, but you may be right in that it may take off as a kind of "period drama" trend after the film comes out (which I'm seeing tomorrow, incidentally. lol).

Juliana is gorgeous, I don't find it over the top. I haven't seen "Atonement" either, but I did read the book a couple of years ago. I guess Cecilia could get caught into the "old-fashioned" fad like Ava, Olivia, Emma and Ella, being favoured by the film. Personally I think Cecilia is ok but I don't particularly like it, I don't know why, maybe it's a bit too frilly.
