Katherine doesn't mean 'pure' thing" How can the Romans 'falsely derive' a name? I mean, if they looked at katharos and thought... "Hmmm... let's make a name
Katherine or
Katerina from the word katharos!" then I don't understand how that could be a false derivation. I've always wondered this. It's a mystery to me. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
