[Opinions] Mika ...
I've seen the name Mika a few times recently and got me to thinking about it again.
WDYT of Mika for a girl? Do you pronounce Mika as MEE-ka or MYE-ka?
Personally I pronounce it as MEE-ka and think that it's adorable. Not certain how well it will age though.
Mieke is also nice, pronounced MEE-kuh as well, but I think in the U.S. there would be problems with the spelling and pronunciation.

I'd say MEE-kah. I think it's very pretty but a little nicknamey.
I like Mika MEE-kah. I also like Miko MEE-ko. I wouldn't use either, but I think they're both very pretty and workable--I could see them working on an adult.

I don't mind it on either boy or girl. It seems like it could work for both sexes, but I would slightly prefer it more on a girl.
Spelling it Mieke would be a good idea to get it pronounced MEE-ka, which is how I would have pronounced it anyway.

MYE-ka, it's quite pretty
Mika was the name of one of my best friends in elementary school. We always pronounced it as MEE-ka. I think it's a very nice name, although I'm kind of biased :) Since my friend was a girl, I prefer it on females. I met another girl named Mika last year.
I agree that Mieke may cause pronunciation problems in the US. In fact, when I looked at it, I had no idea how to pronounce it.
So, yeah, I like Mika.
