I'm usually against respellings, but I really like this spelling. I like the 'star' in it, which would probably be his nickname. It's listed in the database as the only Irish form of Alexander, so that seems pretty legit, though I've never seen it except on boards. Alexander is DH's mn, and so Alastar could be honoring.

Do you think Alastar would always be misspelled? (I'm pronouncing it AL-uh-star, not AL-i-stair...)
For anyone who's Irish here: is Alastar the usual form in Ireland?
