[Opinions] Ambrose vs. Ambrosius
I've been thinking lately whether I prefer
Ambrose or AmbrosiusI think if I did use Ambrose the nn would either Amb or Rosie. And if I did use Ambrosius I would probaby just call him Ambrose or Rosie.Which do you think is better??EDIT= Btw I adore 'girly' nicknames for boys and alot of my male friends have 'girly' nick names (eg. my mate Chris is Chrissy, Joe is Josie etc. its more of an affectionate term here)

Ambrosius works best on sheepdog steeds ridden by overly excitable foxes called Didymus. Sorry. ;)Ambrose is handsome as hell, if not something I'd use. And if Ambrosius would be called Ambrose anyway, I'd skip the middleman and go straight for the source. Array

I prefer Ambrose, esp. if you'd call Ambrosius that anyway. I like the nn Rosie (it's my brother's, from our surname), but Ambrose is just so cool it doesn't really need a nn.

I would go with Ambrose nn Amb

Just Ambrose. I think it's a great name, but it has the potential to be pretentious. Ambrosius just is pretentious.

I agree about Ambrosius.Ambrose just feels more natural, in my opinion.(Ambrosius is also the name of the dog in my favorite movie ever, Labyrinth, so maybe that's another reason why it feels odd to me, because it's the first thing I think of.)

I think calling a boy Rosie is just asking for trouble, in my opinion.Ambrose is better then Ambrosius. I don't know how to say Ambrosius. Is it Am-bor-jhus? Or Am-bro-zee-us?On an entirely different level Ambrose was my budgie's name years ago, so will forever be a little blue and white bird to me.

I prefer Ambrose personally.

I like Ambrose only. I don't like the nick names Amb or Rosie, especially since Rosie is a girls name. I would just stick with calling him Ambrose.
