Salome is my daughter's hebrew name - We've heard it either pronounces ending in 'May' (this is the french way, supposively used by Oscar Wilde) or sounding like Shalom (the hebrew word this name is derived from). I personally prefer the later, especially as we use it as a religious name, but as long as it isn't salami (My FIL thought it was funny when he saw it in writing...) I have no grief ;)
