I like Grey better for a girl, but I'm assuming it's not only the name Gray, but that particular spelling that has meaning. :o) There's absolutely nothing I can find wrong with Gray in the mn slot, though.

Personally, I like Grey better... For either a boy or a girl. The two combos I have are Della Grey and Thomas Grey. I think it works really well in the middle name slot, too.

I can't say I really like it. Gray is a dark, depressing association imo. It's just not pretty.

I prefer Grey for a boy, Gray for a girl...so I like it!

I like it as a middle name but I've always seen Gray as a guy's name and I don't want to see another name stolen for the girls.

I think it's absolutely awful, sorry. For one thing, it's a surname, and if you MUST use a surname as a first name, it should be on a boy. For another, it has a rather masculine sound to me. It also is gloomy and dreary and, well, gray.

Would be so classy as a mn if it has meaning!

Well, it's a family name for me (on a boy), so I think it's nice. As far as on a girl... it could work. I'd go with it as a mn, but I think it could be nice with a great, classic feminine fn :)

My mother almost named me Gray. I'm really glad she didn't though because I find it to be a little dull. I agree with you that it sounds better as a middle name. I think Elizabeth Gray sounds nice. Or maybe Laura Gray.

I'm not a huge fan, reminds me of a drab colour and it's surnamey. But I gues it's ok as a mn.
