I want to like the name, but don't. I guess the double -el in one name throws me. Also, do you pronounce it el-ee-el, el-ie-el, el-yel, or another way? (I'm saying el-ee-el.) I agree with you though, unusual but classic and handsome. I think as a mn I like it much better.
I'm not good with combo suggestions, but maybe something more common and with a similar feel or origin...
