[Opinions] Re: some French names, etc.
My French great-grandmother was named Augustine. I really like the name. Augustin is nice, as well, but I lean towards Augustine on a girl for family reasons. Jean-Marc seems a little passé to me, as do all Jean-hyphenated names. Félicien seems very old-fashioned to me. It's a little too heavy for my taste. It's difficult to explain the last syllable of the pronunciation. The n is 'nasalized' -- not fully pronounced as a consonant, it just makes the e sound before it kind of nasal. I don't know how to describe it any better. Anyhow, the closest I can write down the prn of name is prn FEH-lee-SYAN. FEH-lee-SYEN (closer to how you are pronouncing it) is the prn of the female name Felicienne. I love Rémy...I prefer it spelled Rémi. When I was 8 years old, I "decided" that this would be my first son's name. Arcade is neat. I think it would make a great mn.
