[Opinions] twins, narrowing down boy's name
I'm expecting boy/girl twins in a couple months, and still don't have a boy name! We have picked Catherine "Cate" Lynn for the girl (family names), and I'm trying to narrow down boy names...First names in mind:
Trenton/Trent--does Trent stand on it's own?
Alexander--too popular? It's not in our area, but that's what's holding me back from this one
Cole--family significance, but is it too "cutesy" as a first name with Cate?
Joel--I just like this name haha.
Samuel--not a favorite, but an option.
Travis--this is boyfriend's pick, I don't like it, but had to throw it in there.Middle name will be Cole or Russell (after his dad). Which ones go together best with themselves and with Catherine/Cate?
Thanks in advance for any help, it would be nice to have a new perspective on these since I've been thinking about them so much!

I love Alexander or Samuel with Catherine.

"Cate" Lynn is so trendy, and I hate it when people separate my name into Kate and Lynn, mistakenly. But I understand the family connection, and Catherine and Lynn are real names.Cole - love, and I don't think Cole and Cate would be horrid for twins.
Trent - I prefer this to Trenton. I don't like -ton endings. Too placenamey. Trent and Cate are cute, but Trent and Catherine don't go terrifically together.
Alexander - love, and with the wealth of nns for it I think the popularity isn't so important. Xan and Cate would be sweet.
Joel and Samuel are nice too. Samuel would go well with Catherine, and they both have short nns.
Travis - I love the meaning, not the sound so much. It doesn't sound as good with Catherine either.I love
Trent Russell
Alexander Cole - fav!
Joel Russell
Samuel Cole - 2nd choice
Travis Russell

I think Cole would be nice with Cate. (And Catherine Lynn "Cate" is very pretty.) I think Trent is better as a nn for Trenton, but it could stand on it's own if you wanted. Alexander is not my style at all. Joel is a great name, and I like Samuel even more. Travis sounds a bit dated to me, not to mention boring. I think mn Russell after his dad would be very sweet. Cole Russell, Trenton Russell, and Joel Russell would all be very nice. I actually like Samuel Russell the best, but I think you should go with a name that you really love.

Cole and Cate are very cute, but I like it! Maybe full name Nicholas, and then nn Cole?

would be PERFECT, but...I have a nephew I'm very close to named Nicholas...otherwise I would love it! Isn't it funny how stuff like that works out?

I much prefer Russell to Cole.Joel & Russell won't go together well... so...Alexander Russell
Samuel RussellThose would go well with Catherine Lynn

Trent - nms, but can stand on it's own
Alexander-- I wouldn't describe it as popular, but as a classic!
Cole-- I think it's usable with Cate! I wouldn't worry about the "trendy" thing either, seeing how it originated in Anglo Saxon times...
Joel-- I love this name! (of course you don't wanna pair it with cole!)
Samuel-- I like this one
Travis-- and this one too!I like one name being longer and one shorter, like Catherine Lynn,so my favorites are Joel Russel and Alexander Cole.
Both names go very well with Cate, too!

Trenton/Trent-- Trent probably stands alright on it's own, but I really dislike the name... :(Alexander-- I don't think it's too popular. It's popular, but not too much. And it's nice. It has lots of nn possibilies as well.Cole-- I like it, and I don't think it's too cutesy paired with Cate.Joel-- I like it as well :)Samuel-- meh...Travis-- It's alright.I think of these choices, Joel and Alexander go best with Catherine/Cate.

I think Trent is nice.

First names in mind:
I like Trent, but not Trenton.
I don't care for Alexander too much, but it's ok and has nice nn options.
I like Cole, but I do think it's too cutsey with Cate.
I love Joel.
Samuel is a good name, but it would likely always be shortened to Sam.
I've always liked Travis.Which ones go together best with themselves and with Catherine/Cate?Of your choices, I think Alexander nn Alex goes best with Catherine/Cate. There you have symmetry between classic names and cute nicknames. The only one I don't like with Cate it Trent.

Joel Russell would be great

Alexander and Cole are my favourites. I also love Samuel but if it isn't a favourite of yours, then it isn't worth discussing when there are nice alternatives!Alexander Cole or Alexander Russel both sound great. Alexander isn't too popular IMO. It is a classic and timeless so it is always somewhat popular but not to the point of annoyance. Its just like Catherine really!
Cole is more trendy but still nice. Cole and Cate are cute, but not cutesy and they won't be Cate-and-Cole their whole lives. For most of his life he will be just Cole so its important that you choose a name you love.

I'd go with Joel RussellS xx

Trenton/Trent - I love Trent on its own, while Trenton isn't my style at all. The ending just doesn't do anything for me, but I find Trent to be a very handsome, masculine name. Trent Cole would make a great combo imo :-)Alexander - It is rather popular, and I, personally, prefer it as a middle name.Cole - I really like this name, and I don't think it's too cutesy with Cate.Joel - This one isn't really my style, though it isn't a bad name...just not something that appeals to me.Samuel - I really like this name, and I think it goes very well with Catherine.Travis - love this one! :-) Travis Cole makes another great combo imo :-)

I think that with Catherine Lynn "Cate", it would be nice if the boys name also had a nickname. With that said, I prefer Alexander "Alex or Xander" or Trenton "Trent"

Alexander sounds excellent with Cate. I really like the nicknames Xander, Xan, and Sander. I like Trent, Trenton, Cole, Samuel, and Joel as well. I think that Alexander, Samuel, and Joel sound the best with Catherine nn Cate.BTW Trent is fine on its own.

Cole does seem a bit cutesy with Cate, imo. But Alexander and Catherine "Cate" is terrific. Alexander is popular but not trendy, very similar to Catherine in that respect. Alexander Russell is very nice.

Trenton/Trent-- I really don't like either of these names. They sound screechy to me. But, there's nothing wrong with them, they're just not my taste. Trent stands perfectly fine on its own in my opinion.Alexander-- I love this name, and I don't think it's too popular, especially with Catherine, which is also fairly popular. I think Catherine and Alexander would make an absolutely stunning sibset. If you are worried about the popularity, you could try using Leander, Lysander, Oleander or Coriander.Cole-- I've never been a fan of this name. It seems trendy to me. However, I don't think it's too cutesy with Cate. Joel-- This name always struck me as a very intelligent person's name. I like it, it's classy and timeless. It goes well enough with Catherine. Samuel-- Very wholesome, all-American sounding. But if it's not a favourite, I wouldn't choose it. Choose a name you love. Sam and Cate would make a darling sibset, though.Travis-- I don't like this either. For some reason it sounds like a "snitch" to me, or a mean kid.I'd personally go with Alexander Russell and Catherine Lynn. Good luck!

Alexander Cole - very cool :)

Catherine and Alexander are really nice together. "Cate and Alex". I also really like Cate and Cole. Cute yes, but cutesy? no.

Alexander Russel is my favorite. and it will go well with Catherine. Cate and Alex WDYT?

I think Cole is far too cutesy with Cate, though I like both names on their own. I love Joel and Alexander, and I think they go with Cate. I think Joel is probably my favorite from these. It's sort of unusual, it's a good solid name, and it fits with Cate.
