That would be snare as in "trap."It probably should be pointed out that "snare" is only one possibility for the original meaning of the Hebrew word. Rebecca or Rivkah is one of those names that is so ancient that even experts disagree on the meaning. Another common interpretation is "yoke", as in a yoke for oxen. We may never be completely sure what the derivation of the name was. :)
