I don´t know in Romanian, but in Spanish (language that derives from latin, like romanian), "ie" sounds like "EE-eh": Diego is "dee EH-goh"; Graciela is grah-cee Eh-lah". I can't find in Spanish a name ending in "ie". Hope it helps.

the group ie is pronounced [je], just as in Spanish. So, Ilie is pronounced [i'lje] (ee-LYEH), for instance.
