Message: "Etienne" - Behind the Name

I think Etienne is SUCH a cool name! It is french (could you guess!). I like it but I also think it only sounds good if you say it in a french accent, wich sounds fake if you aren't french. Plus it is french for stephan, I don't hate the name Stephan, but I don't love it. What do you guys think?

Unfortunatley, I had some very bad experiences with a Stephen in high school. As a result, I could never use any name related to Stephen in any way. Which is a shame, because I really love Etienne, but I would think of Stephen, so its a no go.

My Etienne combo is Etienne Moses, second choice was Etienne Josiah.

I grew up in a fairly French environment, so the name just sounds dated to me (as it would to a French person). I guess it does have a really unusual/cool sound to it. It's just surprising to me that people would think it's cool...like a French person falling for Gary or something.

I love Etienne I think it is spunky and interesting. I don't think you have to use a french accent to make it sound nice, but it does add a certain flair to the name. Much better than Stephen.
