The story is that Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love chose the mn Bean because that's what they called the baby from how her ultrasound pictures looked.

I think it's kind of cute for a nn, but not as an actual given name. My niece (13 months) gets called Lucy-Bean by everyone, but her *actual* name is just Lucy.
