I never considered it could be a reference to the baby looking like a bean! That's silly, too. I just assumed it was inspired by Kurt Cobain's daughter Frances Bean. Either way, "Bean" is no good in my opinion. :(

as a matter of fact...The story is that Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love chose the mn Bean because that's what they called the baby from how her ultrasound pictures looked.

well, considering the parents...Were heavy drug users and all-around skanks, I guess they did better than anybody can expect. lol

I think it's kind of cute for a nn, but not as an actual given name. My niece (13 months) gets called Lucy-Bean by everyone, but her *actual* name is just Lucy.
