[Opinions] it has a very pretty sound
I really like the sound of it (AY-fuh, correct? like Eva but with a softer v/f sound). Very pretty and peaceful. It makes me think of a light breeze blowing over a flower-filled pasture. I think that preserving the original spelling would be very nice if it honors or represents a family member or your ethnic heritage. The spelling may cause confusion for the child, especially while in school. I have a name that is pronounced differently than it is spelled phoenetically and as an adult still have to spell my first name for people. I love my name but still wish my mother had picked a simpler spelling.

I agree, the story is great. It's what most attracts me to the name. nt  ·  1st_Timothy_4.12  ·  5/2/2007, 3:28 PM
