[Facts] Aldericus
I had recently posted a question pertaining to the name Aidric. I was told that it may have derived from Aldericus. Is this an Ancient Roman or Greek name?
If Aidric also derived from Aldric would that give it the same orgin and meaning?
Thanks :)

Aldericus is not a Roman name in itself. It is a latinisation of the Germanic name Aldric, probably via the French form Alderic.
Aidric appears to be an alternate spelling of Aldric as St Aldric (see feast day in link) was also known as Aidric or Aldericus.
