Hi. I have a friend (male) who is from Wales and very proud of his Welsh heritage and all of that. His name is Sherief (could be two "Rs" I don't remember). I thought the name was odd for him because it reminded me of Sharif (which is Arabic), and my friend doesn't have any Arabic/Muslim heritage (at least none that he's told me!). Sherief isn't on the btn database, so I was wondering if any of you here know. By the way, I've seen from other British names that ones containing "sher" have something to do with "bright" or "light," so I wonder if I'm misled to believe there might be a connexion. Thanks!
