[Opinions] WDYT of these Portuguese Names?
Here is a list of Portuguese Names I really like, WDYT?
Ones marked * I really would use.
Some have accents over the names but I cannot do them.
I asked for the correct pronouncations from my mother on how to say them in Portuguese.
Yes Cruz, Joaquin (this spelling, and Joaquim), and Antonio are also Portuguese :).
I would use the portuguese pronouncations if I ever used: Joaquin, Cruz, possibly David (I do like the English version too), Neves, and Rui. Although I don't expect people to say them correctly, lol.
GIRLS
Augusta (ah-goosht-uh)
Clara (cl-uhra)
Diana (dee-auhna)
Fia (fee-uh)
Iris * (not sure how to say it, didn't ask)
Isadora (same as Iris)
Ligia (lah-gzhee-uh)
Neves (nehvsh) *
Rio * (hre-oo)
BOYS
Abel (a-bell)
Antonio * (an-toe-nee-ooh)

Fia (although this seems slightly nicknamish to me)
Iris
Isadora
Ligia - there is a girl on Janice Dickenson's modeling agency wit this name, she pronounces it Lee-juh I believe
Abel
Antonio - Whch syllable is stressed here? is it an-TOE-nee-ooh or an-toe-NEE-ooh?
Cruz - but not that pronunciation just because it sounds like crush
David
Elias - is the first syllably pronounced like Eli or Ellie? Either way I like this one best
