hello,
RAHUL verbally means -chains or binding.
It was first noted as to be the name of the son of 'Siddhartha'.
It is said that as Siddhartha-who was bending towards finding the truth of of life-his king father to prevent him doing that'married' him.And hence he named his first son as RAHUL,which meant'Fetters'.
As the birth of a son would have protected him from leaving the palace.But it didn't happened.And Siddhartha went to trace the path to NIRVANA.
