I think if you use the name for a boy, it has to have the Rene spelling.

A popular French name these days is Olivier. Also Maxime. And hyphenated names are much used-Pierre-Marc, Jean-Luc, Marc-Andre, Louis-Phillippe.
René's only for a boy. Renée's only for a girl. Period. And I like both names, but only on their proper genders.
From the others, I like:
Adrien
Amaury
Aimé
Armand
Blaise
Célestin

(Uh, heehee, how do you put accents in? I don't know how...)

Well, on my computer, all you have to do is hold down the alt/option key while you type the letter that needs an accent. For example, holding down option+e = é.
If your keyboard is different from mine, it has something to do with typing in alt+ different numbers for different accents... or something. I'd say just use the symbol/character map in Word. :)

(It said Rene was a male's name) It doesn't really matter, I think an "older" French name would work better though. (It's set in the Medievel Times)

It does make a difference...
Renee is feminine--names ending in "ee" in French are feminine. Rene is masculine. I really like both, on their respective genders.
I also really like Loic, Edgard, Etienne, Florian, Martin, Philippe, Vincent, Paschal, Quentin, and Raoul (among many others). None of the other names you've listed really grab me, though.
