[Facts] Help with pronunciation of Thais
Hello,
Would someone be so kind as to inform me of the proper pronunciation of the Greek female name Thais. I am thinking it could be tay-iss or thay-ess, but would really like to know for sure.
Thanks in advance, it is much appreciated,
Katia

Here in Brazil Thaís is a very common name. And it is pronounced as Pavlos said: Tha EES.

Well, not very much, at least in my neck of the woods :/
I have only met one woman in Greece called Thais.

The name ha two syllable, and the last one is accented. "Th" is pronounced as in "think" (not as in "the"), so Thais is pronounced:
Tha-EES (*not* Thay-EES). Of course I'm refering to the way its pronounced in Greece. Outside Greece, anything goes :)
