Help[Facts] How is it pronounced?
I would like to know how the name AYLA is pronounced. I found this name while reading the book The Clan of the Cave Bear. If you know, i would really like to know how it is pronounced. Thanks.

AY-la, I would say
Ayla has several derivations; click on the hyperlink for the various meanings.
Ayla is roughly sounded out a couple of times in the book, iirc. I'm too lazy to go and look it up right now though, sorry. ;-)

I would pronounce it EYE-luh.

I would guess either AY-lah or EYE-lah, but I'm not certain.
I've googled Jean M. Auel's website (http://www.jeanmauel.co.uk/), and from there, I found what appears to be her official messageboard (http://p206.ezboard.com/bjeanmauel). If you go and ask your question there, her fans will probably be able to help more than we can.
