My name is manya. It is of Russian Origin. (I am named after my Great Aunt. My husband had a Great Aunt also with the name Manya (from his father's side) and a cousin named Manya from his mother's side.
I was told that Manya means Governess. My husbands two relatives who had the name Manya it was a nickname. Their real names were One was Menucha the other Mariasha. However they were both called Manya.
I am sure that my great Aunt had another name as well hoeever we were unable to find out so I was just named Manya and I am called Manya.
