[Opinions] Pearl
What do you think of the name Pearl? I don't think I'd ever use it. Maybe as a middle name. I think it's pretty. I never see it used anymore. Does anyone know any young Pearls? Also, it seems like I never (or almost never) see these names used for young children and babies here in the U.S.(most of these are nms but since old-fashioned names are becoming the new trend, I thought I'd list these for people who are looking for ideas):

I have only heard of this name being used as a name, first Grace Pearl Ingalls (Laura's sister) and secondly a cat, playing Julianne Moore's cat in a movie... So no, I don't know any young people with this name. I do like it though, even though I'd probably never use it. I think it's pretty! From your list I like:
Emerald - another name I like is Sapphire
Constance - think it's very classy
Vera - I love this name, it's so pretty, I don't like Veronica though. I know a girl called Vera, she's about 10 years old now I guess.
Maeve - I think this name is very cool
Verity - very beautiful
Evangeline - also very beautiful
Regina - strong, I like it
Ramona - sounds very nice
Daphne - my nr. 1 name atm! I know a Daphne who is 13.
Leona - like the meaning. Lions are my favorite animals!
Lavinia - very pretty
Leonora / Lenora - classic, yes, Leonore (pron. lay-oh-NOH-ruh in Dutch) is my mother's middle name
Lucia - nice, but I can't picture it on a child
Luciana - same hereand for the boys:
Quentin - like this name a lot, but can't picture it on an old person, it doesn't seem old-fashioned to me either.
Lawrence / Laurence - same here.
Edwin - this is an oldfashioned name but I like it
Edmund - same here
Leander - nice, but it sounds very Shakespearan, it reminds me of the name Lysander
Leon - like this name a lot, but I know 3 young people with this name, so I don't think it's very oldfashioned.

I LOVE underused old-fashioned names. Some people think some of the names I love are too old, but I love them. :) Pearl is one of them, but it's also the favorite of a good friend of mine. So I'd probably only use it if she decided she definitely wasn't going to, and even then I'd probably use it as a mn (just because there are so many other names that I just love more). I think it's a great alternative to Rose or Grace.
BTW, I don't know any young Pearls, but my friend got hooked on the name after seeing a baby on the cover of a magazine a few years back. The baby was adorable and her name was Pearl. :)From the list, I like/*love (on my faves list):

I like the name Pearl a lot. I think it's adorable and has a nice sound. I don't know anyone by this name though. I also don't anyone by any of the other names. I like a lot of them, too.

I think Pearl is very sweet & I'd consider using it for a fn. However, it seems more likely that it will be a mn if we have a girl (DH's Grandma is Pearl). As for the rest of the names on your list I know quite a few with those names, but I'm Canadian.
Rosemarie (a relative)
Cora (former good friend)
Constance (& her cousin Contessa)
Ira (former co-worker, very sweet guy)
Terrence (named after his uncle, Terry Fox)
Ezra (but tended to go by E)
Cyrus (& he's like 4, his sis is Summer)
Edmund (Eddie)
Byron (but he wishes his name was Brian)
Clark (but spelled Clarke & he's pushing 30)
