[Facts] Xochi
I'm trying to figure out the meaning of the name "Xochi". I know it's Mayan, and it is a girl's name. Anyone have any idea? I've been all over the internet and the only people who seem to list it are those kabbalarians, and they aren't helpful at all.
Thanks. :)
Thanks. :)

Actually Xochi is Nahuatl which is the language of the Aztecs which is distinct from the Mayan culture. The word is shortened down from Xochitl. Xochitl's original meaning was flower and comes from Xochimilco which is the valley of the flowers. That area still exists as a small town that has been absorbed into the city of Mexico City.
Um. Just came across this, and I don't know if you still need this or not. Not sure about where you can find the meaning of this name, however, I know there is a Mayan god or goddess (I can't remember) named Xochipelli. You could try www.pantheon.org for more on that. I think it is a reference to youth, beauty, flowers, that sort of thing. Hope this helps you.
Hello Genny,
Xochi looks like short for one of these girls' names:
Xochiyotl (Native Indian [Mexico, Nahuatl], heart of a friendly flower)
Xochiquetzatl (Native Indian [Mexico, Nahuatl], name of the Goddess of beauty, love, flowers and the household)
Xochicotzin (Native Indian [Mexico, Nahuatl], small flower necklace)
Xochiquetzal (Native Indian [Mexico, Nahuatl], most beautiful flower)
Xochitl, Xóchitl, Xochil (Native Indian [Mexico, Nahuatl], flower)
