We've chosen not to find out the sex of our second child, due in about six weeks. We're pretty set on Leo for a boy but are bringing two girls' names with us to the hospital and deciding after the baby is born (obviously, if we have a Leo, we won't have to agonize between the two girl names). :-) We have a five-year-old daughter named Simone. I just wondered what your preference was and why. We'll still wait until the baby is born, since we waver between the names, but the feedback we receive may certainly influence our final decision.
So, which would you choose? Susanna or Sylvie?
On Susanna: We will not encourage or use ourselves the nicknames of Sue or Susie. We'd likely use Zuzu as a pet name when she is very young, but for all other intents and purposes it would be Susanna. No nicknames. I wonder if this is somewhat unrealistic, and that's part of the reason I couldn't come to rest on this name with 100% certainty.
On Sylive: I like this at least as well as, if not better, than Susanna. My husband really likes it and is willing to consider it, but he still seems to prefer Susanna. He's not sure. He says he could really love either name. Sylvia isn't an option; we prefer the French form.
Thanks for your feedback!
