[Opinions] Ryan?
What do you think of Ryan (for a boy)? Too popular? Is it becoming to unisex?

nice name and it is getting popular
I love it! It is my husband's name. Unfortunately, it is becoming too popular. I wish people would stop using it for girls!!
In the States, yes, it is becoming unisex. If you dislike unisex names then I suppose it is becoming one to be avoided. I don't dislike them, personally, on either gender. I prefer Ryan on a girl, although I still strongly dislike it, purely because I'm so bored to tears of hearing it on boys.
I like the name. It is pretty popular - #49 overall (where I am, in the US) I think is really common. I am probably biased by my own perceptions of the name, but I don't think it will ever really be perceived as truly unisex. Even if it becomes the number one girl name, and is barely used on boys, it's still always going to be a masculine name. Well, in our lifetimes anyway, till my generation dies off.

I like it. I also like Rylan. My best friend named her baby boy Rhyan.
I like the name Ryan, but only for a boy! I mean, come on ppl, it is a boy name for sure! Anyway, if you like, then use it, I say!
I think it's a nice name, but it is way too popular to use here. I really hate it for a girl.
I like it for a boy. I know Rianne or Rhianne (or whatever spelling is "in") is a little trendy right now for girls, but it's not too be of a deal to me. Personally, I prefer Ryanna for a girl.
VERY VERY popular. In my last theatre production (consisting of about 45-50 people in all) six were named Ryan. That's a lot.
The meaning is nice, but I'd rather somebody use it for a middle name if they feel it must be used.

I love Ryan for some reason. I do think it is too popular and I don't think I would use it for that reason alone. But I don't think it is becoming unisex, or at least it shouldn't be. A few parents are naming their girls Ryan, but for the most part non-name nerds would probably agree that Ryan is still a boys name.
I like Ryan for a boy, but I wouldn't use it because it is too popular, like you mentioned. It is also true that there are some girls named Ryan, but the boys by far outnumber the girls with this one, and you will see that there are actually fewer girls being named Ryan now than 20 years ago if you look at the popularities (though it is starting to creep back up again).
