Help[Opinions] Marcy
I'm writing a short story and I need help picking out the names for the main characters... the story takes place in the early 70's so keep that in mind. I have a few names in mind for each character, but I'd like other suggestions...
- The main character. A 16 year old white male. Tall, dark, and handsome. He's calm and collected most of the time, although he does do dangerous stuff spontaneously. He's really shy around girls. I was thinking about the name Charlie, but I'd like other suggestions.
- The main character's best friend. A 16 year old white male. About the same height as the main character, only light brown hair. He's a little more cautious then the main character, but will follow his best friend no matter what he does. Very loyal. I was thinking about the names Danny, Joel, and Wesley.
- The main character's love interest. She's about 15 or 16, white, and petite. She has red hair. She's strong, independent, and can be hot-tempered at times. She's also a bit of a tomboy. I want a name for her that's feminine, but can be shortened to a boy's nickname. I was thinking about the names Johanna (Jo) or Charlene (Charlie).
- The main character's father. In his late 40's, early 50's. Sloppy drunk who beats his wife and kids. He cheats on his wife openly. I was thinking about the name Jack, but I don't think I want to use it.
I'm looking for a little more creative names, too. Any suggestions?
