The use of Sasha as a masculine name is attributed to a Russian diminutive for Alexander. It's an attractive name for either gender, and neither dated nor too trendy. Also, Sacha is a perfectly acceptable variant. I think it's unfortunate that people are attacking these amazing names for trivial reasons. If you have a problem with a certain name, please don't preface it in the comments by telling other people not to use it.

This is my name. I’m a girl. I don’t like it. Everyone always mispronounced it as Sa-cha, as in the Cha-Cha Slide. Or Satchel. Or Sa-Ca. If you wanna go for the name, spell it Sasha.

Sacha Casiraghi (a son of Andrea Casiraghi, a grandson of Princess Caroline of Monaco, and a great-grandson of Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly) is a famous bearer. Sacha will be third in the line of succession to the Monegasque throne if Casiraghi and Tatiana Santo Domingo (Sacha's mother) marry.
A, perhaps not so famous, bearer of the name 'Sacha' was a character in Traci Harding's book "The Tablet of Destinies", where he is portrayed as a Deva. He descended from his plane of awareness, the casual/fourth/middle plane, to aid Tory and Maelgwn in their quest to help the Nefilim back to their soul-source. He is the twin of Psyche in this tale.
