Meaning & History

Derived from the Adûnaic word pharaz, meaning "gold". In The Silmarillion, Ar-Pharazôn (King Pharazôn) was the name of the last king of Númenor and the husband and usurper of MIRIEL. Ar-Pharazôn brought Sauron to Númenor. Later he assailed Valinor and caused the Downfall of Númenor.
