However, it should be noted that there are sources that claim that the name Aymon is either a medieval French form of Raymond or the Occitan form of Raymond.

In medieval French literature, duke Aymon of Dordone is a fictional character who appears in several 'chansons de geste', such as Quatre Fils Aymon ("Four Sons of Aymon") from the late 12th century. He also appears in the Italian epic poem Orlando furioso (16th century), albeit under the name Amone.
