HelpBritt's Royal Congrats Sign Ups
So I got the urge to do a royal congrats thanks to Nyx's marvelous games (kudos!) So, here it is! I have two weeks before fall semester starts, so this game will probably last that long, but as I have nothing but my part-time job to worry about I will try and post new rounds every day. This will be pretty free-form. You can choose any type of political system that is hereditary: constitutional monarchy, absolute monarchy, empire, whatever you want goes. I'll provide a basic writing prompt for the story, and each round I'll have some sort of rule for the names. All names, unless stated in the rules for tht round, must be from the same general culture/language, but I won't be that strict (I.e. if you have been using English names but want to name your daughter Madeleine or Carina, you can.) I won't hound you about them, but I really enjoy the stories and more than a few lines is greatly encouraged!
Rules:
1. Miss more than three rounds and you're dropped. I'll provide links to previous rounds so you can find them easily, and you can make them up there or in the most current round.
2. Please old all new additions. < b > the name < /b > without the spaces.
3. Make sure to include your royal house and type of political system in each round, so it is easier to keep up with who is doing what.
Prompt: The previous ruler died when the current ruler was very young, still a child, really. For years the country has been ruled by a regent, who the young ruler is quite close to (who is this person, a relative or a family friend?). But now that the young monarch has come of age, it is time for her/him to take the power and rule in more than name (how was this transition? Did the young ruler feel prepared? Did the regent willingly give up the power?). The young ruler's new spouse is at their side as they announce that the monarch is truly taking the throne (when did the two marry? How do they feel about one another? Is it a marriage of love, convenience, or political strategy?). Also, a little history of your kingdom/empire/what-have-you would be greatly appreciated. Something very short and basic will be just fine.
Naming Rules: all names are up to you this round, just as long as they fit general mood and atmosphere of your land. I won't set a time frame so it can be anywhere from ancient to future.

Kronprinzessin Eleonore was the only child of König Niklaus and Königin Sidonia. Königin Sidonia died giving birth to their daughter and when König Niklaus remarried, when Prinzessin Eleonore was three, he quickly found out that his new wife was barren. Four months after Prinzessin Eleonore's fifth birthday, König Niklaus was wounded in battle with their neighbours, the battle was won but the König did not make it through.
When his will was discovered the Kingdom was in uproar. König Niklaus had not made his younger brother heir, instead naming Prinzessin Eleonore and making his twin sister, Amalie, her regent until she became of age.
Thirteen years later Kronprinzessin Eleonore was crowned Eleonore, of the most noble house of Nteley, the First Königin of Vanya. She already had a husband, for though the Kingdom finally accepted her they still wanted heirs almost immediately, the Herzog of Relaiya. He was a kind man whom she had been corresponding with since she was but a ten-year-old and he a seventeen-year-old whose Father forced him to write back. They eventually grew to love one another and married on Königin Eleonore's seventeenth birthday, their union has yet to produce any children, which both parties are grateful for.

Prince Gustave was born 16 years ago on a dark, stormy night in The Great Elestrian palace. Queen Isadore, Prince Gustave's mother, died in childbirth. Shortly after that, Elestria was ambushed by Vanaise, a rival country to the north. Unprepared for the attack, King Jacques was able to save Elestria, but it cost him his life. By the time that Prince Gustave was 6, all but his Uncle Jean-Baptiste had died. Knowing that Prince Gustave was too young to take the Elestrian throne, Jean-Baptiste took the job. He ruled Elestria for 11 years, until Prince Gustave got married. It was an arranged marriage to Princess Alexandrine of Sylvain, a large, powerful country to the west. The first time Gustave and Alexandrine (known as Alexia) met, it was love at first sight. They married and retook control of Elestria. Consort Jean-Baptiste had grown accostomed to being ruler of Elestria, so it was hard to give it all up, but in the end he determined it worth-while.
Elestria is a small, rather new kingdom. Their main exports are wine, cotton, and emerald. Underneath the Royal Palace is a large deposit of emerald. Vanaise and Hasteth, two kingdom bordering Elestria, are aware of the large deposit of Emerald and continually fight Elestria for possession of it.

(You might notice that I am continuing the House of Ramal's journey from Nyx's KUY congrats, except with a few edits. I miss them folks.)
Don Carmelo, the king of Solandra, has died. In a strange twist of fate, Carmelo's death was an entirely accidental one, when his love of archery and hunting came back to bite him at the heel. Don Carmelo had been playing in a game of arching when one of his own guards mistook the arrows as an enemy attack and sent a shot to His Majesty's direction, hitting him for a one-shot kill. Solandra lay in chaos after their king died in a time of peace; what's more, his queen has also died before him while giving birth to the Crown Prince, and the king's second wife was never considered the first queen's equal by the people. Unfortunately, the Crown Prince Dani was only twelve years of age by the time of his father's death, and was certainly not fit to rule yet.
In the time of uncertainty following Carmelo's death, his illegitimate son - not officially a member of the royal family, but grew up with them nonetheless - was appointed regent, along with the Dowager Queen, Carmelo's second wife Nedda. The illegitimate son, a certain Conde Vasco Alessandro da Tavullia, has always been a devout protector and guide to his younger half-brother Dani. Dani, too, is very close to Vasco, having spent basically his entire life with the boy. And now while Dani, at the age of twelve, is too young to rule, seventeen-year-old Vasco is considered fit to be regent.
Years pass by swiftly, and just after Dani has turned seventeen (the same age his regent Vasco, now twenty-two, took his duty), he was immediately crowned king of Solandra. Young Dani was also quickly married to the engagement set to him years ago when his father was still living, that to the Duchess Ivette de Goya. The two were married young, and were king and queen before they even actually noticed what was going on.

Daniel's parents died when he was very young, after their carriage driver was drugged and murdered by a young Cibar militant who took his place in the driver's seat and then drove them, himself, and the guards off the side of the Holy mountain of Lemrac. Dan was barely eight and an only child, so the empire was on their toes, waiting to see who would rule their land. The new ruler was David, Dan's oldest cousin. David was a strong and healthy young man of twenty years, but he was fiercely loyal to the Empire and his cousin.
David is gladly giving up his title, knowing that his cousin can do a far better job than he ever would. Dan is grateful for his cousin and has declared him the leader of the navy. He won't officially make decisions for a few years, but David is delighted. It has been his dream since he was just a boy.
Before becoming the official emperor, Dan had to find a wife. His first choice was Maya, the daughter of an ambassador, from Eporue. He had known Maya since he was just a boy and he had always been intrigued by her. Not only was she beautiful, but she was also smart and curious, always up for adventure. In their youth, they'd spend hours together exploring the gardens and occasionally the cities, whenever their tutor agreed to sneak them out of the palace. The marriage was the best you could find, of love, convenience and politics, for it would bring Learsi and its closest ally even closer.
Learsi is a country with beautiful mountains to the north and the east, the clear blue sea to the west, and a dry desert to the south. Unfortunately, Learsi is not friendly with its neighbors because they wish it gone.

Since Kat would not legally come of ruling age until she was nineteen, her father, Dowager Consort Robert, ruled in her place as regent. Kat, who adores her father, thought he was doing a good job, but was ready whent he time came for her to take the reigns. Kat has spent her entire life learning to rule from her mother and her tutors, and by the time she came of ruling age she felt ready for the challenge. Her father was extremely proud of the woman she had become, and willingly stepped aside for her.

Twelve years previously, when Fabrice was only six, the King of LaVignette passed away, leaving his children with no parents. Fabrice being the eldest of six (there was a child every year; his mother passed away giving birth to the youngest), he was put on the throne. Since Fabrice was only six, the kingdom had his father's brother rule until Fabrice was old enough.
When Fabrice was sixteen, he was travelling around. Fabrice loved to travel and see the world. While he was staying in the small town of Xylander in Iordanou, he met Chrysanthe Elpida Selene, daughter of a baker who had once been a duke (something happened and he was brought low and he and his family had to restart). Santha was the youngest of a family of thirteen. Many of her siblings were grown and out of the house. She was only fourteen at the time, but her father was already looking for a husband for her. Fabrice stopped by the baker's shop and Chrysanthe's father immediately found out who he was and if he was looking for a wife; he was. Chrysanthe's father then looked into getting Fabrice and Chrysanthe to meet, and when they did they both took one look at each other and turned away.

In the mighty kingdom of Cascadrian.
Cascadrian is once again ruled by it's rightful king -- long live King James! Although, many Cascadrianese are not hopeful that anything will be run any differently than it was underneath the thumb of the Regent, Lord William Haberry, a friend and close advisor of King James X, the current King James' father. Lord Haberry raised taxes so high that there is not a family (peasant and noble alike) in all of Cascadrian that does not have some relative in debtors' jail. And, with King James being so young and having been practically raised by Lord Haberry...It is highly unlikely that Cascadrian will get better before it gets worse.
The King's marriage was even arranged by Lord Haberry -- Queen Agatha, the most beautiful woman in the royal court of her homeland, Maresh. The union was a political alliance between the two countries. The two were married shortly after King James turned 18, before he was crowned. There has been some rumor that King James did not want to marry Queen Agatha, that he, in fact, does not prefer women. But, the ceremonial Showing of the Sheets occured the morning after the Royal Wedding and there were definite spots of red against the pure white of the linen.

King Percival died when Dominic was only nine years old. Suddenly the kingodm doesn't had a King. Because of Dominic's age he couldn't rule the country, so until he would come off age his uncle would rule. King Dominic had prepared for this role all his life and was more than ready to take the power and rule the country when he was old enough. His uncle still wanted to rule the kingdom, but he knew that it wasn't possible.
